- The Balmain Bitch -

My brother Jangles and I come from beautiful Balmain. We would like to let you take a look at where we live, at the parks where we play and introduce you to some of our friends.

We now have a community of volunteers in the Balmain/Leichhardt area who help people care for their pets - especially older people. Sometimes they drive people and their pets to the vet, or they take them for walks or maybe, look after the pets if the owner has to go into hospital. The group is called BowMeow. You can volunteer or register to get some assistance by going to the website at http://www.bowmeow.com.au

Do you want to make a comment on the new Draft Plan for Birchgrove Oval? Use the "Email Leichhardt Councillors" button on the left to send an email to the Council officers and also to each individual councillor. You have until June 6th to make a submission. The plan does recommend turning the little park opposite the tennis courts into a car-park!! You can get a copy of the Draft Plan here
